South Harrison High School Presents Aladdin Jr.

Event Details: South Harrison High School will perform the show Aladdin Jr. Tickets are $8.00 and can be purchased at the door. 

WV Comedy Festival

Date: Thursday, March 26th - Saturday, March 28th

Location: Bridgeport Country Club

Event Details: The Inaugural WV Comedy Festival. The Festival will feature 3 nights of performances of the state's very best comedians headlined by a show from champion Bil Lepp. Tickets are currently on sale. Lent Fish Dinner

Date: February 27th, March 13th, and March 27th.

Location: St. Patrick Hall, Mannington

Event Details: St. Patricks Knights of Columbus is having 3 fish Dinners. Menu: Fried fish, cole slaw, fries, and dessert. Cost is $8.00 take out only.

 

5K to Benefit Honor Flight

Date: Saturday, March 28th

Time: 8:30 a.m.

Location: Barbour County Fair Grounds

Event Details: Philip Barbour High School senior Tyler Baldwin is using his senior project to organize a 5K that will benefit veterans. Proceeds from this race will go to the Honor Flight, a program that sends veterans to Washington D.C. The entrance fee for the race is $15.00; children under 10 will pay $5. The 5K will begin at 8:30 please arrive by 7:30am to register. 

 

WV Chocolate Festival

Date: Saturday, March 28th

Time: 10:00 - 4:00 p.m.

Location: Ripley Elementary School

Event Details: The WV Chocolate festival is a family event that highlights the chocolate industry in WV. There is no entrance fee and parking is free. There will be a parage at 11 and free entertainment by the Ripley High School Show Choir.

Putnam Family Benefit Dinner

Date: Sunday, March 29th

Time: 11:00 - 2:00 p.m. 

Location: St. Patrick's School Gym 

Event Details: The teachers of St. Patrick’s Elementary School are holding a benefit dinner for raising funds for the Putnam children to aid in education expenses. The dinner will be pot luck and all are welcome. Love offerings will be accepted a silent auctions and 50/50 will also take place. Please come out and help raise funds for these children in their education expenses.

BPL: Teen Game Night

Date: Monday, March 30th

Time: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Location: Bridgeport Public Library

Event Details: All teens between the ages of 13-19 are welcome to come to the library for teen game night!

Dining with Diabetes: A Program for People with Diabetes and their Families

Date: Tuesday, March 10th - Tuesday, March 31st (Only on Tuesday's)

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: UHC

Event Information: Dining with Diabetes program is once again being offered by the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health, Diabetes Prevention and Control Program and the WVU Extension Service. The curriculum includes updated information reflecting current diabetes nutrition practices, clinical education, data collection, exercise components, easy recipe demonstrations, delicious food tasting and a supportive segement reducing stress. To register, call Harrison County Extension office at 304-624-8650. Space is limited.

 

Stained Glass Classes

Date: April 9, 10, or 11th

Time: 9:00 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Location: Arthurdale

Event Details: Dave Houser is returning to Arthurdale to teach ather series of Stained Glass Classes. Students will be able to select the colors of both the tube and the color wheels, meaning each person will walk away with a truly unique final product. The cost is $50.00 for members and $60.00 for non-members. There are only 8 spots for each day so be sure to sign up soon!
