HCSC Baked Steak Dinner
The Harrison County Senior Citizens Center will be the the site of a Baked Steak Dinner to support the food program Tuesday September 7th from 3:45pm-5:45pm in the Kinley Cafe of the Senior Center. The cost is $6.00/adults, $4.00/ages 4yrs-12yrs and FREE for 3yrs and under. The menu will have Baked Steak, Mashed Potatoes with gravy, Green Beans, Tossed Salad, Dessert and Drink. Golf Ball Drop
The 1st Annual Golf Ball Drop to Benefit Kids On The Block, will be held September 11th at noon at the North Central WV Airport. First prize is $500.00 Cash, 2nd prize is $200.00 Cash, 3rd prize is $100.00 Cash with many more prize give aways. In additiion to the Golf Ball Drop, a Benefit Car Show will get underway at 9am-5pm to benefit Fairmont State University's Aviation Scholarship. Johnstown Community Fair
The 57th Annual Johnstown Community Fair, located 5 miles SE of Lost Creek, will be held September 11th from noon-9pm. Admission is FREE. Marion County Historical Society
The Marion County Historical Society is taking reservations for a bus trip scheduled for Saturday September 18th to Wheeling & Moundsville. The tour will go to Independence Hall to see the new Civil War flags exhibit, Eckhart House, a beautiful Victorian home, and so much more. Lunch will be on your own. Pick up sites will be at Morgantown Bob Evans and Middletown Mall. The Central WV Center for Pregancy Care, Inc. will host their annual CWVCPC Charity Golf Tournament Saturday September 25th starting at 9am at River Bend Golf Club in Buckhannon. Meatball Festival and Duck Race
The City of Weston and United Way of Gilmer, Lewis and Upshur Counties are joining forces Saturday October 9th for the 2nd Annual Meatball Festival in Weston. The event will be held at the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum during TALA's Fall Festival. The festival is an effort to give the meatball a proper place in American Cuisine. There will be a contest to find the Best meatballs in the country in both professional and amateur categories. Then there will be the Duck Race on the West Fork River near the intersection of W. SJMH Charity Golf Tournament
Plans are underway for the Eighth Annual Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital's Golf Tournament Tuesday October 19th at the Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course at Stonewall Resort. This will be a four person scramble format with an 11am shotgun start. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the M. William Adler Scholarship program administered by SJMH. High School seniors in Lewis or Gilmer counties and apply for this scholarship. The scholarship is also open tochildren of SJMH employees. Students must plan to attend a West Virginia school and to graduate in a healthcare field.
